Ms. Loney previously served on the National Board of Directors of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and was one of the first women in the U.S. to earn the status of Accredited Airport Executive (AAE). Ms. Loney has lectured on domestic and international aviation policy at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 1997 she was named to the President's Advisors Council of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She was previously a Trustee of St. Joseph's University. In addition, in May 1994, Ms. Loney was awarded the AAAE Chairman's Award for outstanding contributions Management.

Ms. Loney has also been the recipient of numerous community and civic service awards. Ms. Loney was named 1988 Santa Clara County Woman of Achievement and received the YWCA's 1989 Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award.
In 1994 Ms. Loney was separately named Business Women of the Year by both the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Philadelphia Customers Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. In 1995, Ms. Loney was presented with two Hospitality Recognition Awards from the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association and the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association. She was honored by the March of Dimes with its Transportation Award in both 1995 and 1998. Ms. Loney was the 1998 "Woman of the Year" for the Women in Transportation Services (WTS) organization and the Anti-Defamation League named Ms. Loney a 1999 Woman of Achievement. In April 1999, the City Club of Chicago honored Ms. Loney as Citizen of the Year.
